Why Women Test, And What You Can Do About It

A few weekends ago, I was in the club, talking to a hot female. I noticed she was looking at the bouncer across the room, and teased her, saying “He’d be good for you.”

She said: “No… he’s too… large,” then she looked into my eyes and said “Looks are very important to me.”

If I had any hang-ups about my looks, I would get self-conscious, she’d pick up on it, and any attraction she’d had for me would be gone.

Instead, I just said “Ah. That’s nice,” and started telling a story.

When you start going out to meet women, they will say things to test you – and you won’t even know it’s a test! They will say anything they can to see if they can trip you up. They’ll bust your balls about your looks or any random fact you say to them. Anything she thinks that you have your ego invested in. She might even look away and appear uninterested for a few minutes, just to see how you react.

Now, they’re not doing it to be deliberately unkind. They just want to confirm that you really are the man you’re presenting yourself as. They’ll push a few buttons to see how you react – to see if you have the internal strength that she truly desires in a man. As an illustration, imagine you’re a caveman and she’s a cavewoman. She needs to know you have the strength of character to be a man when your family is in danger. So she’ll test you a little to see what kind of man you are.

So what can you do about this? Here are a few techniques you can use. Imagine a girl calls you a player.

  1. Agree with her, then turn it around: “Yes I am – so what is it you like about players?”
  2. Misinterpret. “Yeah, I like to play basketball, pictionary, scrabble. I play the French horn and I play the fool. What were we talking about again?”
  3. Just agree with her. “Yep. I am a player.”
  4. Ignore it.

Though truly the best way to pass a woman’s tests is practice. Not many things are going to give you as much confidence as talking to a thousand women. You’ll quickly learn how little it matters whether a woman wants to be your friend or not. The whole thing will be put into perspective, and when some little girl gives you grief about your bald spot, you’ll just laugh.

What Are You Looking For In A Woman?

If you’re like most guys, you don’t really think too much about the kind of woman you would really like to date. Maybe you have some vague idea such as “I want a girl who’s hot,” “big boobs” or “supermodel”. That’s a good start, but let’s go a little deeper into it.

To really know when you’ve hit a goal, you’ve got to set the goalposts first. To know what you’re aiming for, you need to take a good look at those goalposts. So ask yourself a few questions. What kind of girl do you want?

Physically – What colour hair would she have? What build, and how tall? Is she a sporty type?

Mentally – Is she academic? Is she a bimbo? Does she have a career or studying? Is she witty? What hobbies does she have?

And spiritually – Is she religious or not religious? Does she have similar beliefs to you?

These are just a few ideas of things to think about. Once you get a good idea of the girl of your dreams, you’ll have a better chance of noticing her when she does pop up.

Complimenting From The Right Place

If you’re like most guys, you want to make a girl feel good. Making someone smile is a beautiful thing. However, complimenting a girl can be tricky. I’ll explain why.

A lot of guys will compliment a girl because they want to get something in return: sex, a relationship, marriage. When you compliment someone to butter them up, what you are essentially doing is manipulation. You’re trying to “con” someone into liking you. You might have noticed, most girls tend to understand a lot more about social situations than men do, and they can see right through this thin shellac of sleaze.

So how do you compliment a girl in the right way? It’s all about your mentality. When you come in with the goal purely to make someone smile, or just to enjoy their company, you have no vested interest. The girl will see that you’re not focused on any outcome, and she will be more receptive.

“But Antoine,” – you say – “I want to get laid.” Of course you do my friend – we all do. That’s the paradoxical thing about it. By having less outcome-dependence – by allowing women to see that you don’t need anything from them – you instantly become more attractive, and you will get (infinitely) more dates, more sex and girlfriends than you did before.

Statements, Not Questions

When you are truly confident, confidence comes through in everything you do. Just asking what someone does for a living can communicate so much about you.

As an example, you may have noticed a lot of people, especially young women, put a high rising tone at the end of each sentence. It makes them sound as if they are not confident, unsure of themselves. If you have that habit, that’s an immediate opportunity for you to improve your success with women, and life in general.

When people hear someone speaking confidently, you’ll notice at the ends of their sentences, the tone will commonly go down. If you start to using more downward tones at the ends of your sentences, you will start to feel more confident.

Try this on for size. Imagine you’re talking to a girl in a club for a little while, she seems cool and you want to find out a little more about her. You say “So what do you do for a living?”

Try again. “Let me guess what you do for a living. You’re a nurse.” You’re requesting information, but in a different way. You assume confidently, and then you let her correct you. If you say it with enough confidence, she might even think she is a nurse.

After a little practice, you can ask a question and it will sound like a statement: “What do you do for a living.” Just don’t make the downward tone too extreme, or it will sound like an interrogation. If you have a smile on your face when you say it, just introducing yourself becomes a powerful way to start a conversation. You’ve immediately conveyed that you’re a happy, confident person, and that will get a lot of female attention.

Man Is Dominant, Woman Is Submissive

There’s a natural order in nature: Man is dominant; woman is submissive. Maybe you think there’s something misogynistic about me saying that. You might even think it’s not true in this post women’s lib culture. It is true though, and I can prove it.

Think back to when you were in kindergarten or first grade. Remember how you used to tease the girls and pull their hair. It was always the boys who teased the girls, wasn’t it? Rarely the other way around. Back then you knew what was natural, before it got socially conditioned out of you. Male is dominant, female is submissive.

To clarify though, obviously being dominant doesn’t mean you should hurt a girl physically. Being dominant isn’t about intimidation. It does mean that people around you look to you for social cues. They want to know what you think, before they act – and if you have that, it’s inextricably linked with being a man that is naturally attractive to women.

So how do you become a dominant male, an “alpha male”? Here are a few tips. The first thing is, learn to be more outgoing. If you’re shy, start with looking people in the eye more often. Say hi to a stranger on the street, talk to the person next to you at the bus-stop. Gradually you’ll learn to be outgoing, and when you’ve practised for a few years, you’ll eventually be seen as a leader.

The other advice is learn to meditate. I recommend the works of Eckhart Tolle as a primer in mindfulness meditation. If you can learn to be calm more often and in more situations, those around you will see you as a pillar of strength. When you have that presence, all you need to do to get a girlfriend is to take her.
